Throughout the year, we provide opportunities for parents/carers to meet with their child’s teacher. We cannot emphasize enough how vital the relationship is between home and school. Therefore, we ask all parents and carers to attend any meetings that are set by the school.
In addition, once a week, each yeargroup will finish class at 3:20 (instead of 3:30) to allow parents and carers to meet their child’s teacher for a quick chat. Please see below which day has been chosen for your child’s yeargroup:
Year 1: Friday 3:20 in class
Year 2: Monday 3:20 in the playground
Year 3: Tuesday 3:20 in the playground
Year 4: Tuesday 3:20 in the playground
Year 5: Wednesday 3:20 in the playground
Year 6: Friday 3:20 in the playground
Each class has a meeting with parents at the beginning of the year setting out expectations for P.E, homework and the topics they will be covering. Each parent will receive a breakdown of the term’s objectives that will be covered in class. Please visit the page on Termly Curriculum Overview in the curriculum section.
This meeting is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and ask any questions. During this term we hold structured parent meetings to target any children who may be at risk of underachieving.
In the spring term, parents and carers will be invited to a 1:1 meeting to discuss their child’s progress, level of work and what they need to cover by the end of the year. All parents and carers will be given a mid year report so they will have a clear idea of how their child is achieving.
At the end of the year, there will be a final opportunity to find out about your child’s achievements over the year and find out their academic levels. Each parent/carer will receive an end of year report. All parents and carers will be notified in writing about the dates and times of these meetings.
