Introducing our Governors

The school Governing Body is responsible to ensure that the school fulfils its statutory duties and that each child who attends the school receives the best possible education so that they are prepared for the  future.

The statutory duties include:

  • ensuring a high quality curriculum
  • providing a strategic direction for the school
  • ensuring accountability
  • acting as a critical friend to the Head Teacher

The Governing Body at Carlton meets as a full board once a term but also splits into two committees that meet in addition to this – Resources and Finance Committee and School Improvement Committee.

If you would like to contact them you can do so through the school. The Chair of Governors is Kate Jarman and she can be contacted via email at: admin@carlton.camden.sch.uk, or by post: Carlton Primary School, Grafton Road, London NW5 4AX. Alternatively, a note or letter can be handed in at the school office.
